Vintage metal wooden ball

Such round ornaments are usually attractively placed on bowls or shelves and are called carpet balls. If you were a guest in a Scottish mansion in the 1800s, you would know why. The carpet is essentially an indoor tavern for the Victorian Highlanders-a ball like this (called a pigskin!) is the equipment. Our balls are hand-made mango wood, partially coated with nickel-finished zinc.
